Bankruptcy Services for Self-Represented Filers (Typing/Clerical)
If you choose to represent yourself, we can provide typing and document preparation services by entering the information you supply on official forms. We do not provide legal advice or guidance on what to file. This service is designed to reduce clerical burden—nothing more, nothing less.
What we can do
- Transcribe information you provide onto official bankruptcy forms
- Assemble your packet and provide printed/PDF copies
- Organize exhibits you supply (pay stubs, tax returns, creditor lists, etc.)
- Provide general filing logistics (where/when to file) without legal interpretation
We are not attorneys. We do not appear for you, negotiate, or speak on your behalf.
What we cannot do (11 U.S.C. §110)
- Tell you whether to file bankruptcy or which chapter to choose
- Advise what debts are dischargeable or what property you can keep
- Explain your legal rights, strategies, or likely outcomes
- Give tax advice or characterize your debts/property
If you need legal advice, talk to a licensed bankruptcy attorney.
How the clerical process works
- Document checklist. We send you a list of items to gather (ID, income proof, creditor list with balances, recent tax returns, assets/liabilities).
- Intake & transcription. You complete an intake questionnaire; we type what you provide—verbatim—into the official forms.
- Client review. You review for accuracy. We only correct typos you identify.
- Final packet. We provide a print-ready and/or PDF packet for you to file. We can arrange delivery or pickup.
You are responsible for all decisions, accuracy of your information, and any filing fees or court deadlines.
